Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. The father of Manny James, along with Patty James of mixed race. He is the son of Nigerian and his mother caucasian American. In 2010, James graduated in Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he completed a bachelor's in economics in 2015. James' fame kick-started when he made his screen debut as a reality TV star during The Bachelorette. James was picked in 2020 as the new bachelor on The Bachelor season 25, which was the first season to feature an African American male star. The season premiered later that year. James's appearance, size and sense of humor were the perfect match to play the role. Rachael Krakconnell who was his partner for the rest of the season. He teamed up with famous dancer Arnold to take part in the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold came in 12th place.
