Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress and television presenter. She is best known for her role as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the only child to Romanian actor Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the world of show business early, and ended up acting in lead roles on various shows on television by the time she was sixteen. She was praised for her portrayal on Der Tunnel. This paved the way to other memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. The Reader is another Oscar nominated movie featuring this actress. Alexandra's career has seen her be involved in a variety of notable international and national projects. They include British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as in addition to the French historical miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she is juror at each of and the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
